Mentoring

Department Graduate Assistant for Undergraduate Mentoring (2024-Present)

In this position for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters, I will assist with leading three departmental undergraduate mentoring programs with a particular emphasis on assessing the impact of these programs.

Letters to a Pre-Scientist Mentor (2024-Present)

Last year I wrote letters back-and-forth with a high school student who was interested in psychology. I am looking forward to participating in the program again this school year.

Diversity Committee Undergraduate Mentoring Co-Chair (2024-Present)

I began as co-chair in January of 2024. In this role, I lead the process of matching undergraduate student mentees with graduate student mentors of similar interests/backgrounds.

Diversity Committee Undergraduate Mentor (2021-Present)

I have been an undergraduate mentor since my first year in the program. Each semester I meet with 1-3 students to assist with course selection, getting involved in research, and applying for internships, jobs, and graduate school.

Graduate Studies Committee Representative (2023-Present)

As a representative, I meet with faculty to coordinate graduate student awards, plan graduate student events, and ensure that graduate student concerns are addressed.

Eureka! – Girls Inc. Summer Workshop Leader (2022-Present)

For the last three summers, I have helped lead a workshop for middle and high school girls from the Springfield, Massachusetts area to introduce them to cognitive psychology.

Cognitive Area Co-Secretary (2022-Present)

As the co-secretary, I serve as a liaison between the cognitive graduate students and faculty. In addition, I plan orientations and social events for the cognitive graduate students.

Department Chair Search Committee Member (Spring 2024)

In this role, I collaborated with a group of faculty to organize the chair search process, draft departmental memos, and ensure that graduate student perspectives were included.

Department PsychoPy Workshop Co-Director (Winter 2024)

A fellow graduate student and I organized a multi-day workshop to teach other graduate students how to use PsychoPy (a Python-based tool to design psychology experiments).

Anderson-Myers Colloquium Organizer (2022-2023)

In this role, I worked with two other graduate students to organize a colloquium from Dr. Charles Hillman. We selected a speaker, advertised the event, and coordinated meetings with faculty and graduate students.
